Weekend Escape

Our good friends Mariah and Justin have invited our little family (pup included) up to their lakeside camp in Maine for the long holiday weekend. I cannot even explain how excited I am to escape the city and head to the woods for some quality bbq'ing, s'more making, margarita drinking and all around relaxing time. I am secretly hoping that their camp in the woods will somewhat resemble this safari mansion. What are your plans for the long weekend?

Le Vie Grand

Check out this New York Times article about Grand Marnier's new ad campaign that was published two days ago.

After closing my eyes and thinking about what living a grand life means to me, I began my search for the perfect photos to bring this to life. I think these photos do "le vie grand" quite a bit of justice.

The black and white stripes, the scarf, the hat, right down to the hair net all scream french chic

Nothing says French more than fishnets, red lips and a cigarette. Tres chic.

I think this is the perfect little outfit fora day trip around Paris

I haven't made it there yet...but my one day in Paris will include all of the above

I wonder if there is anything under this trench...

This is the ultimate! I love the velvet headboard and the oh so french inspired wall paper and the vintage chandelier, I could go on forever.

Mink Pink

Being that Urban Outfitters is my favorite place to shop hands down, I sometimes run across the Mink Pink brand name. I stumbled across and love the simple yet deconstructed look of the pieces below. Could be some of my favorites for fall!

Dina!

One of the HB's friends got married in August to his amazing fiance Dina. I wanted to post this photo of Dina and her bridesmaids because I think it is just so beautiful. I love the two tone dresses, the pop of the bright yellow colors, and how truly happy they all look to be a part of this special day. I am hoping to post some other photos from their wedding (of course, I need Dina's approval first) because they are all absolutely. stunning.

Yellow Wedding Style

One of my favorite wedding blogs, Tying the Knot, is currently featuring an adorable little wedding. The entire wedding celebration tied in bright yellow accents, right down to the men's socks (one of my favorite photos). Normally, I would say balloons at a wedding would be a big no-no, but after seeing the simple, yet elegant table designs with yellow balloons as the centerpiece, I was sold!

Can we talk about how GORGEOUS the bride's gown is?

The bridesmaids carried the cutest bouquets and were outfitted with a gray cardigan!

Love this photo. Especially love the little guy to the far left. Totally a framer.

Hello Hotlanta!

This AH-MAZING Home in suburban Atlanta was just featured on Things that Inspire. Apparently, Bloomingdales even uses it for some of their campaigns! I love how all the photos have just a touch of yellow as an accent...so charming in every way.

Current Craving: Victoria's Secret

Normally I only shop at VS for cheap bathing suits and, well, underwear. But, after seeing this wear it 4 ways bomber jacket, I'm just thinking of all the possibilities and wondering if this jacket is worth its $98 price tag. I thinky yes.

Why Rush Home?

Living in New Jersey definitely has its down sides, and the long drive home from Massachusetts is positively one of them. On a normal Sunday in MA, we wake up as early as possible, rush to pack up our stuff (and our dog) and hit the road. A few weekends ago, after my cravings for a lobster roll wouldnt go away, we decided to give in and make a short detour in Mystic CT. I hadnt been there since I was 11 years old, but almost of all of the town was exactly the same as it had been back then. We got a quick bite (of course a lobster roll and fried clams, finished off with pistachio soft serve), and embarked on a lazy journey (pooch and all) around the waterfront. Let me preface this by saying it was 95 degrees out, and our journey ended up being a 30 minute walk before the pooch quit walking and husband had to actually pick him up and carry him back to the car. Anyways, I snapped these photos during our walk.

PS- The house below is my absolute dream house. It has it's own pond, pool, waterfront property, a 4 car garage, 7 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, 2 (white) kitchens and all the charm of a nautical historic home. I fell in love at first sight and cosidered strolling up and asking the owners for a tour, but after taking a look at my hungover self in the car window, it nixed the thought. It sold for a cool 1.8 million last summer. Just a bit out of my price range I suppose.

Hurricane Bill

This past weekend husband and I took to Rockaway Beach to check out the waves that Hurricane Bill was bringing to NY. Sure enough, there were about 100 surfers in the water when we arrived, trying to catch a ride on one of the 10 ft waves. Naturally, husband and I brought some wine with us and sat to enjoy a day at the beach, sans swimming. You can see husband in the photo below checking out the water (taken right before he got soaked by a rather large wave!)

Note- check out photo #4 to see one of the surfers taking a major face plant into the water

Swedes Do it Better

I am currently obsessed with the Swedes Do It Better post over at style sightings. Quite inspirational for my planned trip to Topshop tomorow!
