This AH-MAZING Home in suburban Atlanta was just featured on Things that Inspire. Apparently, Bloomingdales even uses it for some of their campaigns! I love how all the photos have just a touch of yellow as an accent...so charming in every way.

Current Craving: Victoria's Secret
Why Rush Home?
Living in New Jersey definitely has its down sides, and the long drive home from Massachusetts is positively one of them. On a normal Sunday in MA, we wake up as early as possible, rush to pack up our stuff (and our dog) and hit the road. A few weekends ago, after my cravings for a lobster roll wouldnt go away, we decided to give in and make a short detour in Mystic CT. I hadnt been there since I was 11 years old, but almost of all of the town was exactly the same as it had been back then. We got a quick bite (of course a lobster roll and fried clams, finished off with pistachio soft serve), and embarked on a lazy journey (pooch and all) around the waterfront. Let me preface this by saying it was 95 degrees out, and our journey ended up being a 30 minute walk before the pooch quit walking and husband had to actually pick him up and carry him back to the car. Anyways, I snapped these photos during our walk.
PS- The house below is my absolute dream house. It has it's own pond, pool, waterfront property, a 4 car garage, 7 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, 2 (white) kitchens and all the charm of a nautical historic home. I fell in love at first sight and cosidered strolling up and asking the owners for a tour, but after taking a look at my hungover self in the car window, it nixed the thought. It sold for a cool 1.8 million last summer. Just a bit out of my price range I suppose.

Hurricane Bill
This past weekend husband and I took to Rockaway Beach to check out the waves that Hurricane Bill was bringing to NY. Sure enough, there were about 100 surfers in the water when we arrived, trying to catch a ride on one of the 10 ft waves. Naturally, husband and I brought some wine with us and sat to enjoy a day at the beach, sans swimming. You can see husband in the photo below checking out the water (taken right before he got soaked by a rather large wave!)
Note- check out photo #4 to see one of the surfers taking a major face plant into the water

It's a Sunshine Day
I adore all of these kitchens. My favorite? This last one. 50% industrial, 50% rustic, 100% perfect. And look at the adorable pale yellow blinds! What I wouldn't give to be sitting in this kitchen, reading the paper, cup of coffee in hand each morning. The dark gray really appeals to my senses, while the punchy yellow accents just steal my heart.

Here's to 40 more years
What I'm Loving: On the Cheap
I just love how more affordable retailers are coming out with such trendy apparel as of late. I can just imagine all of these pieces lined up in my pretty (see: tiny) closet to complete a girlie yet edgy look for fall.
Dear husband, I know that we are months away from our anniversary/my birthday/Christmas, but I would just love it if one of these to.die.for pieces became part of my wardrobe.
Take me out to the Ball Game

Color of the Month: Yellow
Yellow has long been one of my favorite colors. Even the slightest hint of it tends to put a big old smile on my face. From chairs and flowers, cardigans to rain boots- I have decided to dedicate the rest of August to this cheery little color as I don't think we will be seeing much of it once summer comes to an end.
Hello Lover.
